Biography
I began my career with the federal court in Birmingham in 1995 and have been incredibly fortunate to work across many different departments over the years. I started as a U.S. Probation Clerk and later served in three judges’ chambers as a Judicial Assistant. Along the way, I’ve handled criminal docketing, organized the court’s IT inventory, and even spent a brief but rewarding time with the Federal Defenders Office. After retiring in 2019 for 18 months, I was grateful for the opportunity to return to my previous Judicial Assistant position with now Senior U.S. District Judge Dave Proctor.
Outside of work, I’ve been married to my husband, Michael—a retired Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal—for 46 years. We were married on February 13, 1980, in Savannah, Georgia. Together we have two daughters, four nephews we welcomed as sons after a family loss, and five wonderful grandchildren. Giving back is important to me, and I stay busy serving dinner at the women and children’s shelter, delivering Meals on Wheels, and rocking babies in the NICU a couple of nights each week.
